Which program would be the best to reproduce Music CD's without loosing any sound quality ?
I want to buy software that will reproduce Music CD's back to their Manufacturers quality. I have been using Windows media player and have noticed that the sound isn't as good as the original and the CD's can't be played back on older CD players. I would like to know if there's a program which has the capability to reproduce CD's and also convert all the various Video files to standard DVD format.

- If a CD is ripped to wav format then burned to a new disk at no more than 24x you should not be able to detect any difference in sound quality. They can be played on any CD player. Wav is a non-lossy format. If your files are burned to disk in mp3 format there will be a difference in sound quality. How much depends in the bitrate they are converted too. The lower the bitrate the lower the quality. The minimum bitrate for a good balance between file size and quality is 128 kbps. Audio information is discarded in order to reduce the file size. File types such as mp3 or wma are known as lossy formats. Mp3 format can only be played on computers/DVD players and more current CD players. I use Deepburner free to burn all my disks. Ensure all your music files are in wav format and are burned at no more than 24x. Burning at too high a speed can cause errors during the burn process. These disks can then be played on any CD player. If all your music files are in mp3 format they can be converted to wav. The quality will not be better because the audio information has already been discarded but the quality will not be less than what you have. If you need to convert your songs to wav this app from Koyote soft is easy, quick and simple to use. Free too! http://koyotstar.free.fr/indexEn.html And Deepburner free to burn them. http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download I can't help you with video converter programs. There are such apps around but I'm not conversant with them.
