CD Music Online

How can I get my CD-R burnt music CDs to play on stereo?

I have a nice stereo from around 2002 or so. I have burnt music cds but it won't play them. It is blank on the track with no feedback. Is there a media software or a way to have them play as normal cds. Note, my car cd player will play these burnt cds. thanks.
